Cecily strong
Cecily Legler Strong was born February 8, 1984. She is an American actor and comedian. Strong is most well-known for her role as a Saturday Night Live cast member between 2012 to 2022. Strong is the longest-tenured female character during the course of the show's history. Strong was a CalArts graduate who did improv at The Second City in Chicago. Her current job is as a actress on the Apple TV+ musical comedy show Schmigadoon! She co-produces the show (2021 to the present).
Other roles she's had includes voice-overs in The Awesomes (2013-2015), and supporting roles in movies like Ghostbusters, The Meddler and The Female Brain. She was host of the White House Correspondents' Dinner in 2015. In 2021, her debut book, The Memoir This Will All Be Over Soon Soon, was published.
She was nominated at the Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in Comedy Series and Saturday Night Live.
Childhood and early life
Strong was born in Springfield, Illinois, and was raised in Oak Park, an inner suburb in the ring of Chicago. Strong is the daughter of Penelope and William "Bill" Strong, who was the Associated Press bureau chief and in 2013 was the owner of his own public relations firm. Penny Legler Strong, a nurse practitioner who worked in numerous hospitals in the area has retired. Strong's parents divorced. Strong was a child who adored SNL as a youngster and reenacting sketches with a friend and watching older SNL commercials on VHS. "I owned a tape of the best commercials and would wear it every single day." She has said that she was inspired by the late Phil Hartman.
