Gugu's role in the show as Tish Jones became very well-known. Tish Jones is the younger sister of Martha Jones. Gugu was set to pursue an acting career once viewers were captivated by the vivacious and spirited personality. She's also been in other British TV and stage productions. Handler lived in a household of six children. Her mother worked at home, and her father sold used cars. Her mother was born in Germany and immigrated in the United States as a young woman in 1958. Handler was diagnosed with breast carcinoma in 1989. Handler was brought up in Reform Judaism by her father, who was Jewish. Handler was blessed with a joyful and healthy childhood growing up in an affluent area. She was just 19 when she made the decision to relocate into Los Angeles and pursue acting. Handler started performing to earn cash. Handler at the time was 21 was able to concentrate on stand-up comedy as a full-time occupation when she discovered her story telling skills. The beginning of her career Handler started out her career as a member of the Oxygen network, which was an all-female cast on an undiscovered camera/real-life joke television series Girls Behaving Poorly. The series ran from 2002 to2005. The host appeared on several shows, including Weekends at D.L. The Bernie Mac Show The Practice as well as My Wife and Kids. Handler has also worked as an anchor for The Tonight Show. Her breakthrough was in 2006 when she began hosting her program on E! It was called The Chelsea Handler Show. The show lasted 2 seasons. The following year, Handler performed on the Comedy Central's Hour Stand-Up Comedy Tour in the United States. The stand-up shows she has performed have been aired on VH1, Comedy Central's Premium Blend, and HBO. In 2010 it was confirmed that she would host the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. It made her the 2nd female in history, following Roseanne Barr, to host VMAs.
